Local Business Owner Willing to Lose Locks for Charity

06/03/15

Continuing his commitment to help local children, owner of a Medina-based heating and air conditioning company is willing to shave his head to reach a goal

Medina, OH (June 3, 2015) – Last year, Mark Geschke collected hundreds of toys, stuffed dozens and dozens of goodie bags, volunteered at phone banks, plus donated his time and proceeds from his business all to help children at Akron Children’s Hospital. He even won a national award for all his contributions. But now he wants to do even more.

Geschke independently owns and operates One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning® serving the Medina area. Starting this month, he is kicking off a new campaign. If he and his colleagues can raise $100,000 in June, he will shave his head. “One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning is a national brand, with locations around the United States. Last year we kicked off a new partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and we did great. This year, if we can get 100 locations to help us raise $100,000 many members of the corporate team, and me included, will shave our heads. It’s bold, it’s a little crazy but we are willing to do it to help children receiving treatment now and to help children who will need help in the future,” said Geschke.

In Medina, One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning will collect funds in several ways. The company will donate five dollars from every tune-up done; one percent of every installation done in June will be donated; they will put out canisters to collect change at local businesses; and will ask customers if they would also like to contribute.

Geschke has a personal reason to be so passionate about helping children in local hospitals. More than 15 years ago, his granddaughter was a patient in the neonatal intensive care unit. Unfortunately, technology was not available at the time to save her life. Geschke hopes his support will help provide more treatment options and technology that can improve the outcome for other children.

Geschke owns Bauer & Son One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning in Medina. This family owned and operated business has been serving the area since 1932. For more information on this local program to help local children contact:
