This year, the One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing locations in Ramsey, MN were looking for ways to give back to their local community when they realized members of their staff recently had personal connections with individuals who have been affected by breast cancer. Thus, they all rallied together to support breast cancer awareness.
The campaign, “We Believe in Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness” started October 1 and went through the end of the month, and for every dollar donated by friends, family and customers, the office matched 50% up to $10,000!
To kick off the campaign, they sent an email to their entire customer list and posted the story on Facebook. They also wrote an ad for a local radio campaign, posted weekly Facebook posts, and sent bi-weekly email campaigns highlighting the staff having fun and celebrating their success along the way. They also brought in an educational aspect by including a variety of facts of the effects of breast cancer to help bring awareness on how many people are affected each year.
It was the Ramsey office’s first year supporting this cause, and they were able to raise $5,784 for a local breast cancer non-profit organization. The Ramsey office truly believes in the spirit of giving back, and their employees proved they feel the same way, as they worked hard to try and reach their goal. “It’s one of the most gratifying things you can do as an owner,” says Brad Peet, owner and General Manager of One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing in Ramsey. He also believes that as you develop your culture of giving and helping others, you become known as a company who truly cares about people, and it can make a huge difference in everything we do together. “If you care about your employees, your customers, and others, it gives all of us a sense of belonging and caring and that can be powerful. We’re very proud of our staff for working so hard to help raise money for this cause. We believe it’s a triple win for the business, employees, and customer, and it’s for a great cause!”
