What’s the best thermostat setting for summer in St. Charles?

For optimal comfort and energy savings during summer in St. Charles, set your thermostat to 78°F (25°C) when you're home. If you're away, raising it to 85°F can help reduce cooling costs. Using a programmable or smart thermostat can make these adjustments automatic and more efficient.

To improve indoor air quality in St. Charles, start by regularly changing your HVAC filters, scheduling routine maintenance, and using air purifiers. Consider duct cleaning if your home has excessive dust or allergy symptoms. Proper ventilation and keeping your home clean are key to healthier air.

How often should I service my HVAC system in St. Charles?

It’s ideal to service your cooling system each spring and your heating system each fall to ensure you find small issues before they become big problems.

It’s generally recommended to have your air ducts cleaned every 3 to 5 years in St. Charles, or more often if you notice dust buildup, allergies, or musty odors. How often should I schedule AC maintenance in St. Charles?

You should schedule AC maintenance once a year, ideally in the spring before the cooling season starts. Regular tune-ups help your system run efficiently, prevent breakdowns, and extend the life of your unit, especially important in St. Charles's summer climate.

What size HVAC system is right for my home in St. Charles?

The right HVAC system size for your home in St. Charles depends on factors like square footage, insulation, number of windows, and local climate. Mike from One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning came out to give us a quote for our furnace & AC and spent a lot of time going over the size of the house and making sure what he was recommending wasn't too big or small. Learned a lot from his visit that two other quoting companies didn't provide. Very fair on prices quoted. If you're getting quotes for HVAC, make sure to put One Hour on your list!
