“You talked a few weeks ago about the UV lights in my system, will that help my dust problem?”

DustingUV lights actually take care of bacteria, growth, anything on that coil and, if it’s powerful enough, anything growing in that unit. It is not going to help your dust problem. When you are looking at these contamination problems you are looking at three levels: dust particles, germs and bacteria, and gases. So, it is going to handle germs and bacteria, which is very important to your health but dust and particles is really handled by filtration.

There are some better filters you can get, also air cleaners you can get to help that problem. I always recommend air cleaning because it is a better filtration than just using a throw away filter. When we look at a duct system a lot of the dirt and dust come in because the duct system is not sealed.

You can actually seal your duct system with the sealing technology that is on the market and that will go a long way to help stop some your dust problems. You are not going to totally eliminate dust but you can improve the chances of not having so much dust by taking those steps in your home.
