“When the previous motor failed to start, a new air handler fan motor was installed. My tech had to splice two wires together to get around the control board because the new fan wouldn't start after installation. This allowed the fan to run continuously and he suggested a completely new system. It seems obvious to me that the $1400 fan motor was a result of a malfunctioning control board. Consequently, I will still need to purchase a control board. Since I've only been in my house for a month, purchasing a brand-new system isn't a practical option for those of us in our situation.”
