Do you serve homes outside the village limits?

Yes. We serve all of Magnetic Springs and the farms and homes across Leesburg Township, including homes along State Routes 4, 37 and 347.

My house was built before 1940. Can it have central air?

Often, yes. Depending on the house, we may be able to use your existing heating ducts, add new ductwork, or install ductless mini-splits. We'll look at your home and give you each option with a price.

Do you work on propane furnaces?

Yes. About a third of homes in Leesburg Township heat with propane. We repair, maintain and replace propane furnaces, and we can talk through heat pump options too.

What should I do if I smell gas?

Leave the house and call 911 or your gas company from outside. Don't go back in until they say it's safe. Then call us to find and fix the cause.

How soon can you get here if I have no heat?

Tell us you have no heat when you call or book. No-heat calls get our soonest opening, with an arrival window you can count on.

Heating & Air Conditioning in Magnetic Springs, OH

Your Magnetic Springs Heating and Cooling Team

Magnetic Springs owes its name to a spring with an odd reputation. In 1879, J.E. Newhouse found it on his land, and word spread that a knife blade dipped in the water could pick up bits of metal like a magnet. The village incorporated in 1883 and became a resort town, drawing up to 10,000 summer guests to its bathhouses and hotels. The hotels are long gone. Today it's a quiet village along Main Street (State Route 37) in Leesburg Township, in northern Union County. Local kids attend North Union schools.

One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning® of Delaware services furnaces, heat pumps and air conditioners in the village and on the farms and country roads around it. We're locally owned, and our office on Pittsburgh Drive in Delaware is under 9 miles away in a straight line.

Our promise: Always On Time…Or You Don't Pay A Dime!® We arrive in the window you pick, or the service call is free.

Heating and Cooling Homes in Magnetic Springs

Homes in Magnetic Springs are much older than the Union County average. Census estimates show more than half of the village's homes were built before 1940, and the median home dates to 1938. It's a small village, so those estimates have wide margins, but the pattern is clear: most of these houses went up long before central heat and air were standard.

Natural gas heats about 85 percent of village homes, by Census estimates, and village council records show Columbia Gas serving the village. Outside the village, Leesburg Township is a different picture. There, about 41 percent of homes use natural gas, a third use propane and about one in five uses electric heat.

So we check the burners, heat exchanger and venting on every older gas furnace, and we know propane furnaces and heat pumps just as well.

Magnetic Springs Local Insight

In a house built before 1940, the furnace is only half the story. Ducts added decades after the house was built can run long and narrow, and upstairs rooms may have a single small vent or none at all. That's why one floor often stays cold in January and hot in July. Before you replace a furnace or AC with a bigger one, have us check the ducts and airflow. Sometimes the better fix is sealing and balancing the ducts you have, or adding a ductless mini-split for the upstairs.

Seasonal HVAC Tips for Magnetic Springs

Schedule your furnace tune-up in early fall, before the first hard frost. Change the filter every month or two in winter. If you heat with propane, check the tank gauge before the cold sets in so you don't run low on a frigid night. Keep snow away from heat pumps and outdoor vents after a storm. Older homes can get very dry in winter, so a whole-home humidifier helps. In spring, book an AC check before summer's first heat wave.

Very pleased with this company and our technician, Joshua. Scheduling was efficient and fast, they came out the same afternoon that I called. After I had another company come out that morning and tell us they could not fix my furnace dehumidifier, Joshua had it fixed in a short time after his arrival. Pricing was very fair. This is my new HVAC provider!

Andrew was excellent in his detailed review in quoting out a new heating/AC system for our home. He asked what I was looking for and we went room by room reviewing what was in each room. He confirmed that the current layout was very good and the system we had was the correct in its ratings. He prepared our quote as I had asked, no pressure with any additional ons or upsells as I was clear in what we were looking to do. He went over the quote with me line by line asking if I had any questions. Andrew was very polite and professional throughout the whole process. Can’t say enough good things about the dealings I have had with these two gentlemen along with the young lady I talked to on the phone. If you’re on the fence- call these guys.

"Great experience with One Hour Air! They showed up right on time, replaced my thermostat, and did a thorough AC maintenance check. Their pricing was very affordable and honest and their technician James was extremely knowledgeable. He explained everything he was doing and made me feel completely comfortable. He broke everything down clearly and never talked down to me or made me feel stupid. Highly recommend!!!
